Article guidelines / Guest post requirements
We love guest posts, after all, they are the best way to do SEO, albeit the cleanest one. We follow a simple process for working with Guest Bloggers & the guidelines that we follow. Linkly only accepts original, high-quality, & well-researched posts that resonate with our audience. Here are some best practices that will make the guest blogging process streamlined, reduce the to-and-fro, and get you published faster.
- Deliver value to the reader: We publish content for our readers to learn & gain something from. We don’t just publish content for the sake of ranking on Google & organic traffic. Please ensure that your content delivers value to the readers with research-backed facts & actionable knowledge.
- Original Content: Submit only original and unique content that has not been published elsewhere. Avoid plagiarism at all costs. Avoid posts written with AI.
- Word Count and Structure: Aim for a word count of 1000-1500 words, unless otherwise specified. Structure your post with a clear introduction, main body, and conclusion. We sometimes provide the relevant keywords or blog structure, but we expect you to create a keyword-researched blog structure if not given.
- Dofollow Links: Typically, one or two do-follow links are allowed within the body of the article, directing to reliable and relevant sources. Avoid excessive linking. If you present more than 2 links, we will only retain the first two links that come in the post.
- Relevance and Alignment: Ensure your content is highly relevant to the website’s audience, aligning with their interests and focus.
- Proper Formatting and Images: Use proper headings, subheadings, bullet points, and numbering for a well-organized structure. Include relevant images, graphs, or videos with appropriate credits.
- Engaging and Informative: Create content that engages the reader and provides valuable information, insights, or actionable tips related to the chosen topic.
- Proofreading and Editing: Thoroughly proofread your article to eliminate grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and typos. Maintain a professional and polished writing style.
Here’s what we DON’T want!
- Too many backlinks: You can include a maximum of 2 per post, to YOUR site. That includes the link in your bio.
- Thin content that demonstrates a lack of depth of knowledge on a topic.
- Low-quality content with a lot of passive voice & filler words
- Overly promotional content.
- Previously published or sponsored content.
- We don’t add links to Casino/CBD/Gambling/Crypto/Adult sites.
What to expect
We get a large volume of guest pitches, so please be patient with us throughout the process.
- Pitch Submission: Send us your pitch. We aim to respond within 1-2 days. If you don’t hear back in a week, following up won’t be a bad idea.
- Topic Approval and Outline: Once we agree on the topic, we’ll ask for an outline. When the outline is approved, you can start writing.
- Draft Review: We’ll review your draft. If it meets our quality standards, we’ll proceed to editing. If not, we’ll discuss improvements or if it’s not suitable.
- Edits and Feedback: We’ll edit the content to match our style guide. If we need anything from you, we’ll let you know promptly.
- Publishing Timeframe: Your post will be published in 2-4 weeks, depending on edits and our content schedule. It might take longer during busy periods.
